| 内容記述 | 「実際の役に立たない英語」という言葉が、昔から言われ続けながらこれという妙薬もなく今日まで続いている。そしていよいよ本丸、つまり小学校に英語という事態に直面したのだが、筆者は、著名人の賛否両論を具に考究、これを以て単に英語のみならず、教育全体からこれからの日本を視野に収めた立論を試みた。 | |||||||

| 内容記述 | Nearly all the Japanese have learned English at least 6 years or 10 years including college education. But they have seldom been satisfied with their achievements and 'practically useless English' has become a term which the Japanese self-disparagingly have been casting on themselves. Against the backdrop of the situation a new project of teaching English in primary schools has come up and the pros and cons are batted back and forth. This article, composed on the basis of precise inspection of the debate and taking the side of the project, deals with broader aspects of the whole education as well as the English one. | |||||||
