With the disparity in expertise among nursery school teachers that work in nursery schools and children's welfare institutions,the author clarifies the roles of children's welfare institution teachers from a psychodynamic perspective. Utilizing a self-insight technique used in psychiatric nursing science practice called “process records\" in institutional child -care practice,this study investigated the effectiveness of using process records. Using a pre and post student satisfaction -rating questionnaire,the students ‘process records were examined. Seventy-nine percent of students perceived an affirmative result. Through students' relationships with children they were able to gain insight into their own characteristics and their potential tendencies. By utilizing process records,it was possible to touch upon and record the relationships between students and children.
