The present study investigated the relationship between Japanese children's grammatical competence and their false belief understanding. Gram matical competence measured by the Japanese version of TROG (Bishop,1989) did not correlate with false belief understanding when children's age was considered. However, when individual grammatical attributes were investigated,there were weak but significant correlations between syntactic aspects and false belief scores even when children's age variances were taken into ac count.}, pages = {113--123}, title = {Japanese preschool children's understanding of false-be!ief and grammatical competence: Is there any relationship?}, volume = {8}, year = {2009} }
