Participants, 120 university freshers, were asked to rare items concerning the gain in FOP and those concerning university life satisfaction. The responses to the gain scale were analyzed by factor analysis and nine factors were extracted: "close relationship with freshers", "information on university life", "mental fatigue","program fulfillment", "entertainment during excursion","free time fulfillment","close relationship with senior students","close relationship with professors", and "sense of belonging". Factor analysis of the satisfaction scale extracted three factors: "satisfaction with learning environment", "anxiety for the future", and "satisfaction with social relationships". A covariance structure analysis was applied to investigate the relationship among the components. The analysis showed causal relationships between the gain in FOP and the university life satisfaction.
