全体にオーストラリアの家庭科で、住居領域の教育は充実しているとはいいがたい。DIYによるメンテナンスが盛んであるのは伝統的な生活習慣によるところが大きく、住宅について実際的な問題解決を支援する社会的しくみの整備が生活行動や意識に影響していると考えられる。たとえばオーストラリアでは引越経験が多い学生は6割、自ら住宅の購入・賃貸に携わった学生が7割を超えている。家族でメンテナンスをほとんど行わない家庭はわずかで、その方法や技術は、家族や友人を通して受け継がれている実態がわかる。 学生の語句の認知状況について日豪の違いを見ると、全体に自己評価や正解率はオーストラリアのほうが高い。日本ではメンテナンスを頻繁に行い、住生活への関心が高く、住教育を受けている学生のほうが語句の認知度は高くなる傾向にある。他方、オーストラリアではメンテナンスをよくする男性のほうが高い。オーストラリアでは住教育が語句の認知度に与える影響は小さい。しかし、日本では生活様式の変化が急速に進み、家庭における住居管理の伝統が継続されにくい状況で、住教育の役割はかなり大きいといえる。最も知識を得たのは「学校」という学生の回答が多いことから、実生活に根ざした住教育が積極的に取り入れられれば、住まいの知識を向上させ、関心を高めることにつながるものと考える。","subitem_description_type":"Other"}]},"item_1_source_id_13":{"attribute_name":"雑誌書誌ID","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_source_identifier":"AA11643143","subitem_source_identifier_type":"NCID"}]},"item_1_text_10":{"attribute_name":"著者所属(英)","attribute_value_mlt":[{"subitem_text_language":"en","subitem_text_value":"Osaka
